If you sleep 8 hours at night...

While you are awake 16 hours you could have a minimum of 6000 thoughts a day!

As many as 90% are circular, looping or repetitive...

Whenever those repetitive thoughts are 80% negative it has consequences. You might feel very overwhelmed, preoccupied and anxious.

Daily Thought Patterns 

Let's do an experiment. Grab a pen and paper. Set a timer on your phone for 60 seconds. Mark a tally every time you have a thought. Add up all your thoughts. Now you have an estimate. If you do this enough times you can establish a baseline. For example, if you have ___ thoughts per minute... multiply that number by 60 minutes to determine thoughts per hour and then you can multiply that by the average number of hours a day you spend awake. This is how you get your daily thought count. Six per minute is on the low end of the spectrum while 40+ is on the high end of thoughts per minute (tpm).
